about
The story of a german artist who arrived in 1961 in the small village of Camelle at the far end of Costa da Morte in which he was mesmerized by the fierce and beauty of the raging sea deciding to paying worship by the creation of sculptures taken from the same stone that lives in communion with the waves of noble Atlantic Ocean.
This wise man had dark omens in his dreams about an evil was approsching to his precious shore, an evil dark as oil and bigger than a monstruous cetacean that cames true with the arrival of a ship that spilled all that black evil on his work, his sea, his life, company and reason to live... His noble heart was mortally wounded and his life vanished of this world not being able to bear that horrible vision.
Moreover, his spirit remains alive guiding us in oir belief that a simpler life is possible in communion with nature and elements.

The atmosphere of this album is fantastic. Makes you feel like you're knee-deep in the trenches drenched in mud, filth, sweat, and blood. Truly encapsulates the horrors of World War I, and the fact that the lyrics of some of the songs are taken from old war letters really adds to the authenticity.

The first 30 seconds of "Revenge by Fire" convinced me to get the whole album! It is a face-melting blend of speed and black metal, reminiscent of Hellripper! KVAEN is a Swedish solo project much like Hellripper but many known guest musicians helped J. Björnfot in his endeavor. Altogether it is really a solid debut album, I loved the melodies and the pace changes in the second half too, ending with a "calm" instrumental one. Well-done!! sachavonkarl74

Jordan Vauvert

I'd say Havukruunu is the rightful holder of the Crown and the mantle of Quorthon. Epic choirs, vikingesque themes and tales from the other times, of the Finnish paganism back in the days before our ancestors were brought to the cross and forced to kneel while feeling the bloody sword of saviour on their throats made to kiss the hand of murderers who burnt thousands, tore down our holy places and took our holy days. Eyes teary I listen to these songs, never forgiving the crimes of the cross! Peikonmieli
